Hile Design has been hired by Flexible Automation, Inc. of Burton, Mich. to design and build a new website for their current URL: www.flexautoinc.com.

Founded in 1983, Flexible Automation provides the complete integration, both mechanical and electrical, of commercially available automation equipment into custom assembly machines. Their robots and assembly machines are designed for use by many of the world’s leading manufacturers of automotive, medical, industrial and consumer goods.

“Flexible Automation is another great example of the incredible talent pool and resources we have here in Michigan,” said Dave Hile, the President of Hile Design, “They produce truly amazing machines, and we look forward to building them a website that illustrates their creativity and strengthens their brand and business.”

Hile Design LLC has been hired by New Hampshire-based game developer Goldbrick Games LLC to design packaging and game elements for two new family-oriented games: a continuous play card game and a dice game.

In 2005, Hile designed Goldbrick’s popular card game, Perpetual Commotion, which won numerous toy industry awards including the iParenting Media Award and the National Parenting Publications Award.

“We always look forward to our projects with Goldbrick Games,” said Dave Hile, President of Hile Design, “They have great, original products that are super fun to play, and we get to use some of our more specialized creative skills like illustration and retail package design.”

Perpetual Commotion and 2-Player Perpetual Commotion continue to be popular sellers on Amazon.com and at toy and specialty stores in both the United States and Israel.

Hile Design LLC has been chosen to develop a new website and corporate logo for The McCreadie Group, an Ann Arbor-based software developer for the pharmaceutical industry.  

Founded in 2004, The McCreadie Group serves some of the nation’s top research universities and hospitals by providing software development, support and sales for pharmaceutical applications and products. The McCreadie Group is a leading provider of Investigational Drug Services software through the Web-based Vestigo™. The company also focuses on the education of future pharmacists through the PharmAcademic™ program.

Prior to developing the company’s corporate website, Hile developed the name and designed the logo of Vestigo™ as well as the software’s User Interface design.

Boy, wouldn’t if be cool if that were true! As you may have gathered, it’s not. (It’s a little outside our skill set.)

What is true is that we’ve just been selected to create an identity and establish a Web presence for Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti-born biotech startup, DeNovo Sciences. (Now that’s our skill set.)

DeNovo Sciences has been getting a lot of attention recently because they’re on the path towards being able to detect and capture cancer cells in the bloodstream before they find a landing site in the body and metastasize. As they say it:

We hope that this would one day lead to the holy grail of detecting cancer even before the discovery of  primary tumors.

Pretty cool, huh?

So is the fact that this local startup company is hiring a local company (us) to develop their brand with funding provided through Ann Arbor SPARK.

And this isn’t an isolated incident. It’s part of a movement.

There’s a whole lot of high tech entrepreneurship going on with support places like SPARK, Tech Transfer, and in labs, basements and small businesses around town. We think a flood of good news for the region is about to break.

And, even though Hile Design will never be the source of a life-changing medical or technological breakthrough, we think it’s pretty cool that we get to shine a spotlight on the folks that do.

Hile Design is excited to host an open house with the West Washtenaw Business Association on March 30th at 4:30 in the afternoon. Coffee and refreshments will be graciously supplied by Coffee House Creamery. At 5:30 Dave Hile will give a short presentation on inexpensive marketing techniques.
